Kat’s Colourblock Sweater
April 12, 2025
This particular version of Sinclair linnea knit colourblock sweater pattern uses a light grey marl French terry for the main body. The fabric has a lovely texture and is soft without being too thick or heavy. Itâs breathable but still warm, making it ideal for layering over a t-shirt or under a coat. French terry

Bunny Ear Bags
April 6, 2025
Candles, plaster of Paris models and other crafts I have always enjoyed making things. From a young age, I decorated my Dad’s old wooden cigar boxes with shells, to make pretty trinket boxes, and I made clothes for my Pippa dolls (Sindyâs poor relation!) My mum showed us how to make candles, plaster of Paris models and

Mistakes were made, but so was a dressing gown
March 4, 2025
After some searching through the library of patterns for alternative options, I landed on a dressing gown pattern (Simplicity 1562 A) – a substantial project that would feel like an accomplishment, but one that didnât require a great deal of precision or complex technical skills. I can just about use scissors and turn on a sewing machine so seemed like a fair match.Â

The Jensen Mens Shirt Revisited
March 3, 2025
After the challenging ordeal with my previous attempt at the Jensen Mens Shirt using a treacherous imitation silk (read cheap and very nasty) I decided to give this project another go, this time focusing on quality. Motivated by the lessons learned from my last experience, I chose a high-quality cotton fabric for the remake. The difference was night and day.

The Tale of the Treacherous Jensen Shirt
February 26, 2025
Embarking on a sewing journey often leads to unexpected adventures and invaluable lessons, as I discovered with my latest project, a men’s shirt from the “Wardrobe for Meâ, Jensen Shirt pattern. Inspired to create something unique, I chose a piece of polyester that mimicked the luxurious look and feel of silk, hoping to craft a shirt that was as elegant as it was interesting.

Back to the Stitch – Working with Jersey
April 2, 2024
I found myself surrounded by piles of leftover jersey fabric from previous endeavours and some wonderfully cosy sweatshirt material that seemed to whisper promises of comfort and style. Inspired by this treasure trove of textiles, I embarked on a sewing spree that rekindled my passion for crafting and brought forth some delightful additions to Mine and Calla’s wardrobes.
