Mistakes were made, but so was a dressing gown

After some searching through the library of patterns for alternative options, I landed on a dressing gown pattern (Simplicity 1562 A) – a substantial project that would feel like an accomplishment, but one that didn’t require a great deal of precision or complex technical skills. I can just about use scissors and turn on a sewing machine so seemed like a fair match. 

The Jensen Mens Shirt Revisited

After the challenging ordeal with my previous attempt at the Jensen Mens Shirt using a treacherous imitation silk (read cheap and very nasty) I decided to give this project another go, this time focusing on quality. Motivated by the lessons learned from my last experience, I chose a high-quality cotton fabric for the remake. The difference was night and day.

Embarking on a sewing journey often leads to unexpected adventures and invaluable lessons, as I discovered with my latest project, a men’s shirt from the “Wardrobe for Me”, Jensen Shirt pattern. 

Inspired to create something unique, I chose a piece of polyester that mimicked the luxurious look and feel of silk, hoping to craft a shirt that was as elegant as it was interesting.
