Our TheraBee Sessions

Our TheraBee sessions are open to beginners and experienced sewers alike. All comers are welcome (men and women), a minimum age would have to be 16 because of the safety issues.

The TheraBee sessions are not-for-profit. All proceeds will go to maintaining the machines, contributing to the room costs and any remainder to build up the haberdashery, and possibly upgrade the equipment as we go along. I’m currently running the sessions on Thursday evenings (7:30 pm to 10 pm) to start with, but I will expand it if there is a need.

Each session can only accommodate 6 sewers so please do book in with me to avoid disappointment.

We only have one rule really and that’s “be nice”. If you feel you can’t be nice, please do not attend. It has to be a fun and pleasant environment.

Your first session is completely free, after that, we ask for a £10 contribution for each session. This will cover machine usage, room costs, lighting, heating, needles, threads, teas, coffees, and maybe the odd biscuit.

We also have a haberdashery with a reasonable stock of fabric which will be expanding all the time. If you purchase fabric as one of our TheraBee members you will get a discount on the listed price.

You are, of course, welcome to bring your own machine if you’d like, especially if you want to learn to use it. Participants can work on their own projects or there are lots of patterns you can try. I am not setting myself up as an expert (far from it, please read the ‘About Me’ page), but I’m sure we can help each other as we go.

If you are interested in giving it a try, drop me a line using the form below. Let me know which session you would like to come to. I will email you back and confirm your space for that session. You can also use the form if you just want to get a message to me.
