Our TheraBee Sessions

Our TheraBee sessions are open to beginners and experienced sewers alike. All comers are welcome (men and women), a minimum age would have to be 16 because of the safety issues.

The TheraBee sessions are not-for-profit. All proceeds will go to maintaining the machines, contributing to the room costs and any remainder to build up the haberdashery, and possibly upgrade the equipment as we go along. I’m currently running the sessions on Thursday evenings (7:30 pm to 10 pm) to start with, but I will expand it if there is a need.

Each session can only accommodate 8 sewers so please do book in with us to avoid disappointment.

We only have one rule really and that’s “be nice”. If you feel you can’t be nice, please do not attend. It has to be a fun and pleasant environment.

For each session we ask for a £10 contribution. This will cover machine usage, room costs, lighting, heating, needles, threads, and some haberdashery, teas, coffees, and maybe the odd biscuit.

We also have a haberdashery with a reasonable stock of fabric which will be expanding all the time. If you purchase fabric as one of our TheraBee members you will get a discount on the listed price.

You are, of course, welcome to bring your own machine if you’d like, especially if you want to learn to use it. Participants can work on their own projects or there are lots of patterns you can try. I am not setting myself up as an expert (far from it, please read the ‘About Me’ page), but I’m sure we can help each other as we go.

You can book and pay for your session below. If you’d like to come along to “kick the tyres” and meet some of our sews please do so. Use our contact us form to let me know who you are and when you’d like to come along.
